Intrigued by the rare Myoken faith (revering the North Star and the Big Dipper) preserved in Tsushima, I researched the Motoshima Shrine at Myokenzaki in Toyotama-cho, and learned that the North Star and the Big Dipper are associated with seafaring beliefs. One component of this work is a boat shaped from tree branches to represent the darkness of night, with stars arranged in the shape of the Big Dipper using the fruits of the Koelreuteria paniculata tree, said to be the origin of prayer beads. I incorporated various stars I found during my stay (glittering seashells and stones, distinctive pieces of wood, etc.) into the artwork, likening the eyes of fish and birds gazing at the light of the sea and mountains to stars, and representing the North Star.

"The morning star, like a human figure." He became interested in the stones of Tsushima and collected frottages of stones from the coast and stone walls. Then, inspired by the legend of Myojo Shrine (now Myotake Shrine) in Tsushima (Tsushima Chronicle), he arranged these frottages to resemble the male and female morning stars, and based on that, he built a single block of concrete.
